i don’t like them.
I don’t like the way they do busy.
But I respect the fact they they are willing to go out and attempt to make their team better.
Not just a little but the potential with HUGE stars of the game.
The fans there get to some some very good players on a almost daily routine.
If I was a Yankees fan, I would be delighted.
The Yankees delivered for their fans.
Now i wish we could get the same.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!

Khalil Greene becomes a Cardinal player. It appears Mark Worrell and a PTBNL will go to San Diego. Cost is not mentioned yet but his contract is $6.5MM. I like the signing and think it will make a good 7 hitter for us.
It is a low risk, high reward type of signing.
Greene’s splits for his career:
Home: .225/.289/.369/.658
Road: .270/.318/.484/.802
Now we need a 2B that can lead off and a few arms in the bullpen.

Here are my selection for the 2008 awards.
1) Player of the Year: Albert Pujols
Simply the best. Should have won more that 2 MVP’s.
2) Pitcher of the Year: Kyle Lohse
He was the one we could count on.
3) Game of the Year: September 9 vs. Chicago
Anytime the Cubs lose and anytime Lou gets mad and frustrated, it has to be good!
4) Surprise Player of the Year: Ryan Ludwick
All Star caliber in 2008. Let’s go for another.
5) Disappointing Player of the Year: Jason Isringhausen
He did almost nothing for us but blow save after save and TLR kept putting him out there.
It was hard not to vote for Chris Duncan
6) Cardinal Rookie of the Year: Chris Perez
Fireballer than showed he has the stuff to be anointed the next closer.
7) New Cardinal of the Year: Troy Glaus
Slow start had us worried. Glaus was very good after that. Good find.
8 ) Most Anticipated Cardinal: Colby Rasmus
I definately WILL NOT vote for him three years in a row!
9) Best Individual Blog: Bird Land
Silky smooth with writing.
10) Best Team Blog: The Cardinal Virtue
Always on top of the story.
11) Best Professional Blog: 3 way tie.
Hard one to choose.
12) Best UCB Project: Top 7 Prospects
Always fun to discuss the future of the Cardinals.
13) Most Optimistic Blog: Cardinal Nation Globe
You won’t find one that hangs in there for the long haul any better.
14) Funniest Blog: Cardinals Diaspora
Funny and crude sometimes but always a laugh.
15) Best Blog Post/Series of the Year: Biggest Plays of 2008, Fungoes
Always insightful
16) Rookie Blog of the Year: Pitchers Hit Eighth
Simply outstanding. Watch out Cardinal blog readers, this one has the makings of the best.
There you have them. One side note, watch out for the next project that I predict will be big and that is the Blog Talk Radio by the United Cardinal Bloggers. Could be huge.

Matt Holliday that is. He goes to Oakland. I am OK with this. I thought the money issue was rather extensive and wanted to see it used in the bullpen or middle infield,
Now the attention is turned towards free agent Orlando Hudson. That would be a decent get for the Cardinals for up the middle. I can live with Izturis if need be but would rather see and update there, too.
Seems the D-Backs have expressed interest in Adam Kennedy. I would rather keep him than have to eat some of his contract. He can be serviceable as a fill in player.
Don’t forget the radio show the United Cardinal Bloggers will conduct on Wednesday night. Hope you call in and chat some baseball.

Ok, would you or wouldn’t you get Edgar Renteria back into the fold as a Cardinal shortstop?
Let’s say a medium size contract for 2-3 years. Should we stay with what we have or sign new?
Free agent or trade for a shortstop?
I amok with Izturis unless it is a top notch player to replace him.
To Edgar, no thanks.

Last night, in conjunction with a few United Cardinal Bloggers, I had my on radio show. It was easy to do and was fun. Well, as long as a few pople called in. When I talked to myself, it got a bit boring. it is awesome in the fact that 5 people can call in at the same time and share the responsibilities of discussion.
I hope to host another one soon.
Here is a link to the archives for my show. www.blogtalkradio.com/cardinalsgmcom .Remember, this was a trial show that I decided to give a whirl to about 50 minutes before I started. Lots of bugs to work out.
