I have to admit it. I cherished every Cardinals division championship and play off wins along with the World Series. But, I can’t say I remember them vividly. Which brings me to one point for today. How Sweet it Is, to win this season with two very good teams chasing us down to the end. Last night was fun for a Cardinals fan as the team scored early and just like voting in Chicago, often. What a pitching performance from Tyler Lyons. The kid was locked in and all business. He was fantastic. Then Tony Cruz, which some love to rip on, hit a two-run homer to cap it off. I bring this to a close by mentioning the all-around game of Jason Heyward. They can do this tonight. I am actually not too worried about this as they took care of business in the early part of the season to put themselves in position to win the division....

Matt Holliday, Jaime Garcia and More

Saturday’s win was a refreshing game. It kept the Pirates at bay. The Cardinals flew out of the gate and never looked back. Any time Holliday’s bat is in the line-up, it is a threat to score runs. The offense looks fine for the post season. Jaime has been terrific and is 10-1 in his last eleven starts with nearly a 2.00 ERA. He is a big key for post season and even more so with Martinez out.
