Memphis Redbirds (19-14) defeated the Sacramento River Cats 10-3 on Friday evening. Oscar Taveras had 4 hits and 3 RBI’s along with a home run in the win. Adron Chambers had 3 hits and Ryan Jackson and Jamie Romak each collect 2 hits. Michael Wacha improved his record to 4-0 on the year with 6 innings of work where he allowed 3 hits and 2 runs. Marc Rzepcynski pitched 2 scoreless frames.

Scott Gorgen started and allowed 3 earned runs on 6 innings but Lee Stoppelman picked up the win in relief. Heath Wyatt pitched one scoreless inning.

Peoria Chiefs in the 1st game of the doubleheader saw Joe Cuda blank Beloit 2-0 to pick up the win. He worked 5 innings and allowed 4 hits. Zach Petrick finished the game with 2 scoreless innings to see him garner his 4th save of the season.

Kurt Heyer took his 1st loss in Game 2 as Beloit shutout the Peoria Chiefs 4-0. Breyvic Valera got the only hit for Peoria in the 7-inning game. Heyer allowed all 4 runs in 5.2 innings of work.
