The point here is that if the cards are ever in a position to get rid of one of their veteran players advantageously, I’m all for it. but dump ‘em just for the satisfaction of dumping ‘em? You don’t get anywhere by selling low.

To be consistent with your reasoning, Albert Pujols should be traded, Reyes and Wainwright are goners, and Ballpark Village hasn’t been completed so we might as well move the team across the river. It’s not fair to call out proven commodities like Tony and Jocketty when all’s not well. Have faith. It’s getting annoying hearing this across Cardinal Nation year after year, yet after they win we are thankful. The season is far from being over, and even if it was, I don’t think it’s the right way to go through with much of what you’re suggesting.

I like Franklin in the 8th inning. It helps shorten it to a 7 inning game, if we ever get the lead. Whether it matters or not, Narveson I believe, only has one option left. Do you use it now? Yep, now is as good a time as any. Does anyone need Eckstein? Maybe we could move him for a player that could be useful later. Let Miles play SS in the interim.

Yeah, I hadn’t thought of trading Izzy but that might not be a bad idea.

I’d love to see them release So and Wilson and bring up Ludwick and Jrod.

There has been a lot of talk of dropping Shumacker back to the minors but I’d really rather see what he can do given more playing time. We’ve got a lot of tallent in the OF in the minors, it’s time we clear the way for it.

As for our pitching the return of Mulder would be helpful but I think we’ll need more than that at least if we want to compete at all this year. I’d like to see what Narveson can do against big league hitters and might even consider giving Franlin a shot at the rotation.

I thought Carp was out a minimum of 3 months? Was it a typo or did I hear wrong? I hope I heard wrong.

Anyway, I don’t know that we need a complete overhaul but we sure as hell better start spending some of that money that the owners are raking in hand over fist. We need a bat (or two) in a big way. I think we are two pitchers short (Kip Wells isnt the answer and I’m ready to trade Reyes) but maybe we could fill one spot from the farm?
