The St. Louis Cardinals exploded for 14 runs with 2 dingers from David Freese and a bop from “Sugar” Shane Robinson.

DSL Cardinals- GAME STATS HERE

Left-fielder George Araujo had two hits with a triple and a RBI to lead the DSL Cardinals to a 6-5 victory over the DSL Athletics. The Cardinal affiliate trailed by 4 after two innings but put together a 5 run innings to propel them to the win. Fernando Baez came into the game in the 2nd inning and nailed the game shut by throwing 4 innings and allowing no runs with 8 strike outs to garner the win.

Quad Cities River Bandits- GAME STATS HERE

The River Bandits only managed 5 hits in a losing cause as the Kane County Cougars defeated them 4-1. Roberta De La Cruz had 2 hits and the lone RBI. Dail Villaneuva started the game and finished with six innings of work and 8 hits and two runs to absorb the loss.

Springfield Cardinals- GAME STATS HERE

Springfield banged out 10 hits but came up short and lost 6-4. Jake Schafer had two hits including a home run and Kyle Conley knock in three runs. Seth Maness started and went four innings and allowed 9 hits with 4 runs and struck out six but did not figure in the decision. Chris Corrigan absorbed the loss with one inning and three runs allowed.

Memphis Redbirds- GAME STATS HERE

The Redbirds exploded for 7 runs in their last two innings at bat to defeat Albuquerque 12-6 on the road. The offensive firepower was provided by Eugenio Velez and his Grand Slam home run along with a pinch hit triple by Garrett Wittels. Nick Addition (2-6) was the fortunate winner with 5.2 innings of work and allowing 3 runs. Adam Reifer struggled with 0.2 innings and 3 runs but the rest of the pen came up strong as Barret Browning, Jess Todd, Chuckie Fick and Nick Greenwood all saw action.

 

Palm Beach was postponed in their game on Thursday.
