National League East
- Washington Nationals – It used to be said that Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper are the face of the future. Now it is clear that time has arrived. This team is young and talented. They have a good rotation headlined by Gio Gonzalez and up-and-coming Ross Detweiler. Throw in veterans Adam LaRoche, Jayson Werth and Ryan Zimmerman and the team is primed for the playoffs. Predicted record – 97-64
- Atlanta Braves – The Braves are trying to stay close in their division with the arrival of Justin Upton. The outfield is one of the best with a powerful Jayson Heyward and the Upton brothers together. Chipper is gone along with Martin Prado which translates into the difference between these two teams. Rotation finds a rookie ready to win some awards in the likeness of Julio Teheran and the bullpen has a dominant closer in righty Craig Kimbrell. Predicted record – 93-69
- Philadelphia Phillies – Time is passing them by. They still have some quality players but can no longer keep up with the upper tier teams in their division. Utley, Howards, Rollings and Halladay once caused fear. Predicted record – 84-78
- New York Mets – This is a struggling team that now has David Wright for another 8 years but dealt reigning Cy Young winner R.A. dickey to the Blue Jays. Santana is a shell of himself but some youngsters are on the horizon but that is for another season. Predicted Record – 80-82
- Miami Marlins – The team is gone except for Giancarlo Stanton. Losing Reyes, Bell and Buehrle guts the team into oblivion. Not expecting much for the Miami Marlins in 2013. Predicted record – 66-96
