  • Left Fielder Tyler Apelian hit a two run homer in a 4-3 win for Batavia
  • Johnson City scored a run in the 9th to defeat Greeneville 1-0. Stalyn Lopez along with Jeffrey Rauh and Ronald Shaban combined for a shutout.
  • Memphis was shutout 2-0 but had a good outing by lefty Tyler Lyons with 7 innings of work with 5 hits and two runs allowed and fanned 8 batters.
  • Oscar Taveras had two hits but Springfield lost 5-1 to Frisco.
  • Third baseman Anthony Melchionda smacked his first home run of the season and help Quad Cities win 6-1. Kyle Hald pitched 7 innings and allowed one run and fanned seven.

Ildemaro Vargas- Vargas is 6’0” 175 lbs second baseman that started the season in Johnson City where he hit .333 with 6 doubles and 5 RBI’s before he was promoted to Palm Beach. For the Palm Beachbirds he is currently hitting .364 with 3 doubles and 4 RBI’s in seven games.
