 CARDINALS NEWS

The bats came alive with 7 runs in the 7th inning to defeat the Reds 13-4. Lot s of offense in this one as Jose Martinez drove in 6 runs and was 4-for-5, Tommy Pham had two hits, Dexter Fowler with two hits and Yadi Molina with two. Home runs came from Ozuna, Martinez, Molina, and DeJong in the game. Michael Wacha started the game (game score =47)  and John Brebbia pitched an inning with two strikeouts and picked up the win. Mike Mayers had a successful three innings of work to help save the pen.

 GAME RESULTS

 

Memphis Redbirds hung on for a 5-4 win as Edward Mujica allowed a run and a double but shut the door. Austin Gomber (game score=53) pitched 6.2IP/6H/3ER/2BB/4K in the game. Derian Gonzalez went 1.1IP/0H/0ER/1BB/1K to preserve the game. Tyler O’Neill had two hits in the game and Rangel Ravelo knocked in two runs along with one from the bat of Patrick Wisdom. 

Springfield Cardinals defeated Midland 10-5 last night as Edmundo Sosa, Lane Thomas, Andrew Knizner, and Victor Roache each knocked in two runs in the win. Thomas and Roache homered in the game. On the hill, Ryan Helsley pitched 4.1IP/5H/4ER/4BB/3K before giving way to Estarlin Arias who picked up the win. Ramon Santos and Chris Ellis finished out the game.

Palm Beach Cardinals won their game 4-3 against Dunedin. Evan Mendoza and Jose Godoy each had two hits in the winBrian O’Keefe had 2 runs batted in. On the mound, Evan Kruczynski got the start (game score =58) with six innings of work as he allowed six hits and two earned runs with 1 walk and eight strikeouts. Luke Gregerson had one inning where he allowed one hit and no runs. Yeison Medina allowed two hits and one run and also picked up the win in relief. Jesus Cruz pitched the ninth and allowed one hit to register his first save of the season.

Peoria Chiefs fell to the Cedar Rapids Kernels 9-5. The Chiefs banged out 11 hits in the game including six doubles. Elehuris Montero had three hits as two of them were doubles. Dylan Carlson and Julio Rodriguez each added two runs batted in. Jake Walsh started the game (game score = 52) and went 5.1IP/5H/3ER/0BB/5K before giving way to Fabian Blanco who surrendered the lead with 1.1IP/3H/2ER/2BB/0K. The loss went to Thomas St.Clair 1IP/2H/3ER/2BB/2K and Levi MaVoris completed the contest with no runs allowed.
