Brian Barton- do we need him?

I understand the Rule 5 pick. BUT do we really need him? Does he bring anything to the team?

I believe we can get his production elsewhere.

A bench guy with speed is always a plus in my book.

Hell yes we need him! Guys get hurt. They need rest. They have slumps. Barton has done EVERYTHING asked of him by LaRussa and done it well. NO WAY do you dump a great bench guy who can step in and start at any time. Barton is a true Cardinal.
