Back from Shea… What a sad Day!
Took my first trip to New York City to take in my Cardinals in the Big Apple. Oh my!
We look horrible. Even in the win we couldn’t do many things right. We are in complete dissaray right now. No leadership or something. We lead the league in home run that mean nothing. I am discouraged.
Did someone tell Mitchell Boggs he was a major league pitcher? He can’t put one by the good players like Reyes, Wright and Delgado. HE looked lost and appeared to be a sacrificial lamb on the Cardinals part. On Friday Albert looked bad.
Not sure what to make of this season. It has been above expectations but now we are faltering and it makes me wonder if we ought oto be sellers and see what we can get to stock up for the coming years. I don’t think we are better than the Cubs or Brewers but part of me doesn’t want to give up, yet. I am hoping to at least get the Wild Card.
Future posts will give my thoughts on Shea Stadium and the new stadium, CitiField with pictures and then later my thoughts on Yankee Stadium and some construction pics of that one.

I’m right there with ya. I don’t quite want to give up yet, especially with Carp and Wainwright coming back soon.
However, after watching the pen implode and our offense struggle in clutch spots, I’m painfully aware of our flaws as well.
I’d love to see a trade for Halladay or Burnett (as long as he’d agree to stay for a while) because I think those both help immediately and in the long run but other than that, I’m not sure we’ll have any trades to make.
The only player we could sell would be Lohse and I’d rather try to resign him.
Carp, Wainwright, Lohse is a potent front 3 and I’d like to have a full season of that.
Color me naive, but I’m banking on a vast improvement come Wednesday. Carp’s return should boost both performance and morale; and now that Pujols has broken that achingly long homerun slump, we should be in for some enjoyable, or at least non-tortuous, games.
Of course, we still need a re-vamped bullpen…
Glad to hear you weren’t the St. Louis native in the hospital after falling down the escalator.
I’m excited to hear your thoughts on Shea. I chose not to go this year, as I HATE that place and have been there enough to not bid it farewell.
