The Time Has Come.
…to make a deal with the Yankees. Today they signed Andy Pettite to a deal. So, they have to have a surplus in the pitching department.
Time is ripe for the Cards to offer Ankiel to them for Phil Hughes. Damon can’t play for them as he used to. Matsui can’t either. Nady is not a regular any more. The Time Has Come to make the offer.
Ankiel for Hughes.
Make the call, Mo.

I just can’t believe that Cashman would do that deal. Why not just continue to hold Hughes down in the minors, or shift him to the bullpen? Or move Joba back to the pen to make a slot for Hughes?
The Yankees don’t *have* to make a trade, so I don’t think they will.
I’ve been surprised before, but when they start talks for Cano at Wainwright? Why even bother calling that number?
I would think this would make Ian Kennedy more available, though. And since the Yanks can’t sign anymore Type A or Type B free agents, a trade may be their only way of upgrading the outfield.
The Yankees are looking to unload outfielders, not add to the backlog. I really don’t see them making this trade.
