- Prior to his MLB career, Cardinals pitching legend Bob Gibson played basketball with the Harlem Globetrotters.
- Did you know that Chuck Finley is the all-time winningest Angels pitcher and he ended his 17 year career with the 2001 Cardinals?
- On August 15, 1909, Frank “Coonie” Blank made his only appearance in the Major Leagues. He played catcher for part of the game and set the record for the youngest person to play for the Cardinals. He was just 16 years, 9 months and 28 days old.
- From 1985 to 1990, Vince Coleman led both the Cardinals and the entire National League in stolen basis for 6 straight seasons.
- On July 27, 1983 St. Louis Cardinals runners stole 9 bases in a single game.
- Lou Brock was the first MLB player to hit 20 homeruns and steal 20 bases in the same season. 1967 he had 21 HR’s and 52 SB’s.
- The ONLY extra-inning walk-off home run in MLB All Star Game history was hit by Stan Musial in 1955.
