The St. Louis Cardinals had Friday off from games after the 3-1 loss on Thursday to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Michael Wacha gets the Saturday start and the Cardinals will be facing Zack Greinke.

Saturday @ 1:15 PM and it is Mystery Hall of Fame Opening Day Car Parade Bobblehead Day.

 MINOR LEAGUE RESULTS

 

 

Memphis (AAA) had their hitting shoes on as the bats came alive in the game and scored 12 runs in the 7th innings to defeat Round Rock 17-4. The team banged out 18 hits highlighted by two home runs from Tyler O’Neill. Max Schrock had four hits in the game while Adolis Garcia had 3 hits and Patrick Wisdom and Randy Arozarrena had two hits. Carson Kelly reached base 3 times via walks. Daniel Hudson was the starting pitcher and winner with 5.1IP/6H/3ER/2BB/1K. Three pitchers finsihed the game for the Redbirds. 

Springfield (AA) dropped thier second game in a row and lost to Midland 6-3. The pitching wasn’t there as Ryan Helsley tossed 5.1IP/6H/5ER/2BB/5K for the game. Hector Mendoza followed him to the mound and pitched 1.2IP/1H/0ER/0BB/1K. Ramon Santos finished the contest with one inning and one hit allowed. Helsley took the loss and moves his record to 0-1 for the season. 

Tommy Edman continued his hot hitting 2 hits including a triple and one run batted in. Thomas Spitz also had a triple and two hits as the DH while Lane Thomas smacked a home run in the contest. Catcher Andrew Knizner added a double in the loss.

Palm Beach (High-A) won their first game of the season with a 7-3 win over Jupiter. There was plenty of offense from Palm Beach as five players each got two hits in the game. J.B. Woodman shook off a tough night on Thursday and rebounded with two hits including a triple and 3 RBI’s. Johan Mieses homered in the game and added two runs batted in. evn Mendoza, Chase Pinder and Stefan Trosclair each contributed with two hits. 

On the mound, Evan Kruczynski was the startr and had 4IP/3H/3ER/2BB/2K for the night. Ronnie Williams followed him to the hill and had two perfect innings with 3 strikeouts. John Zgardowski pitched 1.1 innings and John Patterson pick up the win for the Cardinals. Will Latcham closed out the contest  with one inning of work allowing no hits, one walk and fanned one Hammerhead batter. Attendance for the game was 1,804.

Peoria (Low-A)- The Chiefs game at Burlington, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday night, has been postponed. Peoria not scheduled to return to Burlington in first half, so the makeup will be part of a 5 p.m. double-header at Dozer Park on May 30.

 

 

     APRIL 7 GAMES

Memphis @ Round Rock 7:05 CT – The Redbirds will send Austin Gomber to the mound to face Yohander Mendez of the Round Rock Express.

Springfield @ Midland 7:00 CT- Ben Bracewell of the Midland RockHounds faces the Cardinals right hander Conner Greene.

Palm Beach @ Jupiter 5:30 ET-

Peoria v. Burlington 6:30 CT- Home Opener at Dozer Park with Johan Oviedo getting the ball.
